Great Study Aid for all levels of Italian !

This book is an excellent study tool for students at all levels of learning Italian - whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I recommend this book highly because the author's explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and usage are clear, concise and easy to understand. It's a useful reference book for self-study or a formal Italian class. The Table of Contents is nicely organized and takes you directly to pages of interest. The book is rich in examples of contemporary Italian usage as applied to grammar and vocabulary topics. The idioms and cartoons are entertaining and enrich the learning experience. Let's face it, Italian textbooks are often somewhat boring and leave students with many unanswered questions about the topics presented. This book attempts to answer these questions and motivate the student to advance to the next level of learning. Definitely Five Stars!

I'd give it a 4.5 of 5 if I could. It is not a textbook at all. It is written for native English speakers learning Italian. It demonstrates many things I knew from reading but didn't know the "why" or that there was some sort of rule. This explains them. I think it might take going through it a couple of times, but I think it will really get me over that hump.
