These are among the questions I have been swamped with whenever the subject of trading is brought up. What every trader is looking for is the secret formula to making money, but nothing could be further than the truth; there is no secret formula, or at least I have not found it yet. Most of the people I talk to have no idea about non-directional trading. In this book I present to you a completely different kind of trading. Open up your mind, think outside the box, and you might have a better chance of surviving in the cruel trading arena.

Most of the people who trade lose money; only a minority really make money and make good money. If we can identify what is common amongst these people, we might be able to increase our odds of winning. Most traders try to predict the market direction. They attend course after course, read book after book, and purchase software after software, with only one objective, which is to know where the market is heading. Once they can identify where the market is heading they will make a lot of money. This is directional trading. It is never easy to predict or know where the market is really heading. The easiest way and most uncommon way is to predict where market is not heading; this will be the core of this book – non-directional trading. Most people lose money in trading doing directional trading, so it’s time for us to think outside the box. This is a good book focusing on options selling on commodities, author also provide a lot of recent up to date example. It would be nice if the chart is in full color since it is a kindle book but nevertheless I learn a lot from this book, at less than $10 this book is a steal to tap into the professional trader industry that your broker don't want you to know.

good luck.

Appears comprehensive, but I found two errors on the first person I looked up (Eli Bosworth). First a typo (1979 instead of 1779), the second a cut-and-paste error (wrong husband for his granddaughter Sarah). Makes me wonder about the rest of the book.
My biggest complaint is the lack of any kind of acronym / abbreviation list. Many are obvious, such as “b” for born. But if you are new to genealogy and don’t know what dozens of others, such as MSSR or VR stand for, good luck.

ANOTHER SUPERB BIOGRAPHY BY RAY MONK OF A MAJOR PHILOSOPHER

Ray Monk is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Southampton, and the author of the definitive biography of Ludwig Wittgenstein, Ludwig Wittgenstein: The Duty of Genius. In this book (there is also a second volume, BERTRAND RUSSELL: 1921-70 THE GHOST OF MADNESS VOL 2), he deals with Russell's life with a philosphical command that other biographers (e.g., Ronald Clark's very good The Life of Bertrand Russell) do not possess.

Monk begins by stating, "There are many things for which I admire Russell greatly - his enormous intelligence, his commitment to philosophical clarity and rigour, his dedication to the causes of social justice and international peace, and so on. But the challenge to those of us who admire Russell is to understand how they can coexist with a sometimes quite chilling coldness to those close to him, and a disturbing capacity for deep and dark hatreds."

Monk's observations on Russell are very deep and pertinent: e.g., "Russell was fond---perhaps over-fond---of presenting his life as a series of epiphanies, many of which, one suspects, were overplayed by him in later life for the sake of lending drama to the facts of his life."

Concerning Russell's early work in mathematical logic, Monk asks, "Would Russell have produced such important original work in logic and philosophy if he had NOT been dead to the world of the senses?" He adds, "Russell's work on mathematics had, in an indirect way, provided an alternative to religious faith."

Monk chronicles in some detail Russell's attitudes toward religion, which---particularly during the time of his relationship with Lady Ottoline Morrell---were once quite positive, and rather fervent. Russell wrote her, "I shall always be hungry for your God and blaspheming him. I could pour forth a flood of worship - the longing for religion is at times almost unbearably strong." "Indeed passion is of God, the unquenchable thirst for heaven - it is the power that drives us on to seek out good. We are all exiles in this nether world, and all passion has something of homesickness."

Monk is at his best when describing Russell's relationship with Wittgenstein, and gives many insightful comments, such as: "Russell was still inclined to look upon Wittgenstein's work as a kind of 'fine tuning' of his own.... And Wittgenstein was not repairing it, as Russell continued to think, but he was demolishing it altogether." Russell's "relationship with Wittgenstein suffered from the very beginning from his insistence on casting Wittgenstein in a role for which he was unsuited.... From this standpoint, Wittgenstein would always remain unintelligible, and it is scarcely any wonder that he felt misunderstood by Russell." "The importance that Russell attached to understanding Wittgenstein's work at this time, and his refusal to take Wittgenstein's brusque dismissal of his own work were, I believe, connected with his desire to preserve his intellectual integrity. Who better than Wittgenstein---for whom the compromises of journalistic writing were unthinkable---to act as his philosophical conscience?"

This is another exceptional biography by Monk, and will be essential reading for anyone interested Russell, Wittgenstein, modern philosophy, or one of the influential figures of the 20th century.

One wouldn't imagine that Siku, onetime artist for postmodern bloodfest Judge Dredd, would be the ideal choice for a manga-style graphic novel adaptation of the Bible, but not many pages have passed before it becomes clear that the Bible is, in fact, the perfect material for him. This audacious little book doesn't make much effort to be authoritative and include every last Old Testament begatting or bloody massacre. Instead Siku presents jazzy and irreverent riffs on the good book, leaping brazenly over whole reams of material and scattering behind numerous Want to Know More tags directing readers to more explanatory chapter and verse. The action is breezy and flip, drawn in a sharp and Anglicized manga style. The dialogue is not just laced with humorously incongruous Britishisms (My maths has never been very good!) but with slangy passages worthy of the CW Network (Cain to Abel, Whassup, bro?). Although the book (already a hit in the U.K.) is being released via Doubleday's Galilee imprint and is clearly targeted at youthful believers, it makes little attempt to sanitize the grottier aspects of the source material, as witnessed in the scene where a crowd of Sodom's citizens bellow, Bring out those men so that we can rape them! Grade 10 Up–British cartoonist and theology student Siku, perhaps best known for his work on Judge Dredd, offers a concise, well-staged, and fulsome take on the Bible. Because of the character-driven nature of his art, the accounts tend toward the best story pieces, with lots of Genesis included (Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Abraham and Sarah, and more), as well as stories from other Old Testament books such as Joshua and Ruth, through which readers can become acquainted with the individuals. The New Testament collapses many books into a couple of sections but includes several of Jesus's parables and ends with a surprise twist on the Book of Revelation. While costuming tends toward a kind of storied old Middle East (and women's forms are visible but always clothed), an occasional story line will have some updated visual metaphor attached to it: a mid-20th-century crime boss or a nuclear warhead, for instance. Each story includes a marginal tab directing readers to the book, chapter, and verse where a more traditional account can be found in the Bible. About the Author
SIKU is one of Britain's leading comic book creator/conceptualists, having worked for 2000AD; producing titles such as 'Judge Dredd,' 'Slaine' and a strip he co-created called 'Pan-African Judges'. He has also worked for Marvel UK and COM X and has been credited on a number of computer games, such as Evil Genius. More recently, he has been developing concept work for TV commercials and producing freelance work for Nicklelodeon IP and promos.
Siku's works are published in several books like Images 22--the best of British Illustration and Digital Art Masters. He also appeared on TV doing interviews for ITV's The London Programme, Channel 4's The Big Breakfast and More 4 News, Channel 5's Chris Moyle's Show and BBC's Heaven and Earth.
He studied at Yaba's School of Art, Design and Printing and the London School of Theology.

A Dramatic New Vision of the Bible in Manga Form

Even though this is a thick manga-style graphic novel, obviously its not the whole Bible -- nor is it the only possible interpretation of the Bible's sacred text. So, with those potential assumptions set aside, you're likely to really enjoy this vivid "take" on the Bible's highlights.

Research into Americans' Bible-reading habits has shown repeatedly that Americans love to own Bibles -- often more than one. The problem is that we frequently can't find time to read our Bibles, or we get stuck in a rut of a single version or two. Even if we love the Bible and read it regularly, most of us are always looking for fresh ways to re-envision these powerful, timeless stories.

When I first got my copy of this book, opened the first page of Genesis -- I was lost for the next couple of hours!

Plus, I like the chapter-and-verse references sprinkled through the book -- so readers can check out the full version of the stories in the Bible itself.

great, but one concern

first of all, I love this book. it turned out to be more than I was expecting. the art is great even in black and white. I like how the author included references to the stories in the bible to expand the readers understanding of the stories. for the most part I feel that the biblical account was treated very respectfully with this being am attempt to put a new perspective on it.
the only real concern I have is a few instances of nudity. I completly understand that the bible deals with some pretty heavy stuff, specifically speaking of the old testament right now. there are stories of adultery and other things and there are no punches pulled, no attempt to sanitize it. that's what a truthful witness (thw bible) does. with that said, I feel that the author didn't need to show certain images so graphically, especially if this is geared toward younger readers. even if its meant for older kids the younger ones will still pick it up. specifically the stories of adam and eve (of course), ruth, and especially david and bathsheeba. I think the points could have been made in a less edgy way. now I don't feel like the images were meant to stimulate, but depending on who is reading, you never know, especially with younger kids. so parents be warned about that. I was able to "edit" my copy to lessen the impact a little, so that's an option.
otherwise I love how the book flows and it is great as a supplementary reader. I sometimes have a very hard time reading especially long passages or those very involved sentences in pauls letters. Having a picture in my mind really helps me keep track of my thoughts. this book is great for that. there are lots of books passed over, but I understand that.
another thing I like is how the gospels are combined into one narrative with a few parables of Jesus inserted in strategic places.
overall, I really love this adaptation and enjoy reading it.

Easily the Best Illustrated/Comic Bible

First, I should say I couldn't care less about the art - it could be stick figures for all I care. Telling the story and stories effectively and accurately are what is important. This is the Word of God, right? Everyone raves about "The Action Bible" which is boring and, surely, makes every one who reads it never want to read The Bible again. The Manga Bible, on the other hand, seems to have been written by someone who cares far more about the material and what it means than most of the useless and downright painful literature of faith available.

S. Jason Cunningham has spent the last 12 years working extensively in Southwest Asia, the Middle East, and North and East Africa specializing in conflict resolution, geopolitical research and investigations, and corporate risk management and due diligence in such countries as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Libya, Uganda, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The author's career began some 19 years ago working on a diplomatic dialogue in support of the Middle East Peace Process, and has since travelled the world visiting more than 60 countries. The author has hosted high level diplomatic meetings with Presidents, Prime Ministers and leaders of multinational corporations, and frequently speaks at international conferences on homeland security, and oil and gas.

Intriguing

Just finished reading this book and must say it is a fun read. It is conspiracy theory writ large. Although I will not make a claim as to the veracity of all of the data presented, the unfolding arguments appeal to what many of us feel in our guts must be going on among the financial elites. Each chapter includes numerous references many of which are obscure or dated, however that very aspect will appeal to hardcore conspiracy theorists as proof that a sinester plot is being actively covered up.

The book includes many accusations of Satanism which are a bit overdone, but I do not doubt that international elites are intentionally shaping world events or that the powerful pick their successors from a select group, usually from the same families. As someone who, like the author, has spent the past 25 years working around the globe, I have seen the alleged interference and twisting of media coverage firsthand. If the author seems a bit paranoid or to be pushing his own religion (as it appears he is doing toward the end of the book), his indictment of select elites and their families' plotting throughout history is believable and the limited facts that I am certain of are accurate.

Having been raised Christian and having studied the world's major religions myself, to include continuing to have regular intimate exposure to Islam and Judaism, there is also no doubt in my mind that religion, particularly the Abrahamic religions, have been intentionally corrupted for political and financial gain. That is not to say that all of the devout are corrupt, only that many of the teachings have been twisted to benefit the powerful. This seems particularly true of many of the most far-fetched claims and restrictions. This book is also not the first time I have seen it postulated that Jesus Christ was influenced by exposure to Eastern philosophy during the 'missing years'.

There are definitely some people I would not recommend this book to - friends and relatives who are already paranoid conspiracy theorists - because it might push them over the top. But for the average reader, particularly those prone to sticking their heads in the sand and pretending society runs on peace, love, and understanding alone, I would strongly recommend "Smoke and Mirrors". Money brings power, power corrupts, and there is more happening in the world to benefit the few than most would like to believe. This book introduces unintitated readers to some of it.

Technically I tripped on various typos as if the book were hurriedly edited, but that seems to be increasingly common. It did not prove excessively distracting.

Someone involved with the book recommended it to me and I'm glad I read it. As stated before, overall it was fun to read and thought-provoking.

I purchased this book from amazon for use with the kindle reader app. My only complaint is that, while amazon sells it for the reader app, it can be downloaded for free in pdf format directly from the book's site. I don't mind paying $5.95 for the convenience of the kindle version, I just wish I had known about the free pdf version from the start.

Smoke and Mirrors is a book I would recommend to anyone around the world. I recently sent several books to friends and family who live overseas and gave several books for Christmas to friends here who heard about this book. I couldn't believe that the corrupt secret groups and elite who want us to live in a cloud of smoke think that they can keep a veil over our eyes for long. With this book, the truth is documented and will clearly help our world from anymore lies and deceipt. One story that woke me up was how the Federal Reserve is a privately-held company that lends to the US government but gets all the interest and not the people of the US. And, this private company is owned by a few corporations both here and abroad. I found the clarity of the historical details and the way the author describes the references and people behind many of the facts to be eduational and enlightening. This book should be mandatory in all universities. You will be shocked to find out the truth about the Libyan attack, the misleading TV news, the people who control all the gold in the world, and so much more. The perfect ending to Smoke and Mirrors; A New Beginning.

Good-to-Know

Courageous reporting! Good information to have...though sometimes keeping up with the complex, tangled events was challenging. I was surprised at how much info was in such a short book. Also, it was shocking to learn about the power that central bankers, religious hierarchies, the "military-industrial complex," and governments have had over us ordinary tax payers. What makes me so angry is that much of this is probably accurate, though it would be nice if it weren't. I can only hope that moving torward "Light," as the author talks about, truly illumines "Darkness."
