This is really a terrific book that has helped me in many ways. Don't mean to sound so cliche and cheesy, but the advice in this book is straightforward and easy to digest and implement in everyday life. Sure, just like many reviewers have said, this book does give shy guys and guys like me who lack confidence around women more positive vibes to feed off of, but you can't really believe it till you buy this book and try out some of the techniques. And to rebuff some of the other reviews, this book is a revised edition of the original, and isn't outdated whatsoever. All the old info has been thrown out and replaced with practical advice for today. I should know, since I now have both the old and new versions.

Awesome revision of the original masterpiece!

I'd always thought Mr. Weber would eventually do up a revised edition of his great dating book How To Pick Up Girls! Well this new one not only is just as good as the original, but exceeds it to a great degree. Now I realize many of you might be familiar with the original and would disagree with me, but just take a quick scan through this new PUG! and your opinion'll change in no time. Yes, some of the info is repeated, but there are some new chapters and even the old existing chapters seem to be altered and updated. All in all, an amazing book -- and I thought the original could never be usurped, but it indeed has been!

If you are shy around women and tongue tied, this will give you a nudge to ask them for a date. Also, not all women want a tall, good-looking man, and this book helps destroy that assumption that most men seem to have about women. This is a good buy for pumping up your self esteem and courage to approach women.

Books of historical humor are of two types: those that are more funny than factual and those that are more factual than funny. This one is the latter type. You will find no laugh-out-loud hilarity here. No doubt it is clever, entertaining, and amusing, but you won't split your sides laughing. It is solidly fact-based, however, and you can really learn from it. You could even use it as a textbook. Bibliography included. The art work is outstanding!

Book 1 of the series covers a lot of ground, from the Big Bang to the Old Testament. Through the dinosaurs and the early hominids to the first civilizations at Egypt and Sumer, and points in between. Early agriculture, tools, and animal domestications. Nomadic tribes and warfare. Volume 4 follows the Israelites from Sumer to Egypt to Canaan to Babylon, with much violence along the way. But such was the Holy Bible!

A good overview, but not always an easy read, with so much material crammed into so few pages. Thirteen billion years of history in one book means that some of the kings tend to get jumbled together towards the end.

Prabhakaran Kuppusamy is a Hadoop ecosystem specialist and cloud enthusiast who is currently working as a senior systems engineer and developer, Cloud and Infrastructure Services unit, at Infosys Limited. He is passionate about teaching and writing. He loves to play cricket during his leisure time. He joined Education & Research at Global Education Centre, Infosys, where he trained and evaluated thousands of freshmen in Java, Big Data, and cloud technologies. During his tenure in the Education & Research department, he provided training to students from Coventry University and to professionals from Costa Rica on Big Data and cloud technologies, such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Elastic MapReduce, Google App Engine, DynamoDB, and CloudStack. Prabhakaran has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from Anna University. Poor Quality on All Fronts.

This book is poorly written, is very light on actual content, and has clearly not been edited*. The biggest problems with this book are that it's 70% non-information filler interspersed with maybe 30% useful content, presented as links or copied and pasted charts from public locations. The information it does provide is rote data and devoid of the guidance one would expect from an expert in the field of Cloud services. For example, the first chapter informs you of 5 security features provided by amazon: multi-factor authentication, access keys, cloud-front key pairs, X.509 Certificates, and passwords. While it walks you through how to set these up, it doesn't tell you is where each of these are relevant or how you should chose between them. Given how straight-forward the AWS console is, it's a complete joke to spend more time on such walk-throughs than on the guidance that is actually lacking from Amazon's own documentation.

*Here just one of many examples showing a clear lack of review: "Therefore, if a user wants their Amazon EBS-backed instance to store volumes, they must postulate them using a block device mapping" Postulate? seriously? Such errors would be excusable on their own, but in this case, they're symptomatic of the entire work.

A good way to accelerate your journey into AWS infrastructure.

The authors take a step by step approach to familiarizing the reader with the tools and workflow needed to use AWS for a number of purposes. The overview of VPC and AMI setup will help the reader become quickly familiar with a functioning environment but it doesn't talk very much about the huge number of other potential use cases.

If you are getting up to speed with AWS this book covers a lot of the initial setup that you will need to be productive. Given my somewhat broader experience with AWS I found much of the book review but for newcomers this book will guide you step by step and covers some of the areas I had figure out myself with simple tutorials. Packt does a good job of publishing timely technology information here and in other books.

Griity and full of emotion.

Burke's poetry is not for the faint of heart. It is gritty and at times, very dark. It will kick you in the gut and tear at your heart. It is also very personal, which is what I like most about it. Whether it's anger, frustation, love, or something else, you can feel the emotions jumping off the page in to your lap and in to your heart.

Though his writing style is very different from most of the poetry I read, I enjoy it because it feels so real.

If you loved the series...don't read it!

I have been a huge fan of the series from the beginning. I loved all the books, some more than others...but always a fan and left satisfied. I am so mad at this final chapter of the series...I am actually pissed! If you do not want to know the outcome, then stop reading now.

I am not upset at the story line, I just feel like we have been left hanging. This whole family is still in turmoil from being torn apart. The relationships are almost beyond repair. They have said horrible things to one another and there was no resolve. Olive...really! Why would you do that? Why would Falyn ever want to be with that family again? Trent will never forgive them. There is so much that could have been done with just a few more chapters. It was a horrible end to a beautiful series I cherished. I am angry with myself for reading it now.

Beautiful Closure

I have been an avid Maddox Family lover since the beginning, starting with A Beautiful Disaster. I didn't think it was possible to love these characters anymore than I already have. Until this book. Each chapter is written in a different characters POV. It was absolute perfection & flowed seamlessly from one character to the next to tell a beautiful story. I loved seeing how each character has grown into anaxing adults. The sacrifices, love, blood & tears they've all surrendered just to keep their family together are inspiring. The Maddox family is what every family should be together in troubling times. The good, the bad, the ugly & the sad. They never stop fighting for each other or give up. Jamies words broke me apart & put me back together & left me a speechless hot mess, again & again, in this book & it was beautifully done. In the end I feel like I got the closure I needed for every character in the Maddox family. It is was so beautifully done. This is a must read for everyone.

As others that have rated this book low have stated, this book ruined this Beautiful series for me. I am so disappointed in the characters and how they treated one another and having a death be given a brush off with a slight mention of the funeral was distasteful. I thought the author's dedicated readers deserved better as well as our favorite characters.
